Comments: Thomas Daniel DuBose (Nee: DuBose) | Synter SC United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: Civil War photo of my Great Grandfather Thomas Daniel DuBose. He was a confederate cavalry soldier and paroled on April 9, 1865 at Appomattox Courthouse in Company I, 7th South Carolina Cavalry. Unit he entered the Civil War in is unknown. He was in a hospital in Richmond following a wound to his arm. He spent a few months following release from the hospital in Columbia SC as a part of Hamilton’s Provost Guard. The unit he rejoined after leaving Columbia is unknown. The 7th SC Cavalry was not formed until March 1864 by consolidating five independent companies with the cavalry of Holcombe's South Carolina Legion. The unit served in General Gray's Brigade and was involved in various conflicts south and north of the James River and around Appomattox.
