Comments: Anna Reider (Nee: ) | Emporia KS United States | 1851-1900 | Comments: I have an old studio photograph identified as Anna RIDER which was taken at the F. A. Trader Studio in Emporia, KS sometime in the 1880's. Anna appears to be in her teens at the time the photograph was taken. I believe that this is a photograph of Anna REIDER. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Anna and her family:
Anna “Annie” Strauss REIDER was b. 1866 in Pine Grove, PA to parents Israel Schlockerman REIDER (1835-1909) and Sarah Anna STRAUSS (1837-1872). Annie was one of 7 children born to this couple including Larius or Lareius Strauss; Nathaniel Strauss; Francis Strauss; James Strauss; Annie; William Strauss; and George Strauss REIDER, all born between 1859 and 1871.
After her mother died her father married Harriet LEONARD (b. 1847) and two additional children were born including Robert Lee Leonard REIDER (1876-1954) and Mabel Louise or Leonard REIDER (1883-1964). Harriet had a daughter Mamie (b. 1866) by a previous marriage who also used the surname REIDER after her mother married Israel. Annie died in Kansas in 1958.
